I’ve always had my suspicions, but evidently research is bearing this out. Evolutionary psychologists have been conducting studies that illustrate connection between orgasm and wealth of the male partner. From The Times of London (via Sexoteric):

Cassie is living proof of the latest scientific discovery about human sexuality: that the number and frequency of a woman’s orgasms is directly related to her partner’s wealth.

Now, however, science is showing that a rich man’s money has aphrodisiac qualities as well as purchasing power. Their partners really can have it all.

Many will object to the idea that women are hardwired to be gold-diggers. Perhaps, however, they will be appeased by the revelation that the same kinds of primitive forces are at work in men too. They may operate in different ways and produce different behaviour – but they come from exactly the same source: a genetic code fine-tuned by millions of years of evolution to make us seek out whoever offers us the best deal in life.

For me, this just adds fuel to my cuckold fantasies. Not only do we have to compete now with better lovers satisfying my wife, but also more wealthy and successful ones.

Intrepid reader Ben wrote me yesterday with a link to this story in the Rocky Mountain News about a former cop and his wife that are suing the Pueblo, CO police department for discriminatory termination, because of his cuckold relationship with his wife. Here’s an excerpt:

Michael and Tammy Bethel filed a federal lawsuit last year. In it, they said that Tammy Bethel is free to have sex with other people, as long as they are not married or minors, and provided she tells her husband about it.

The reason, the researchers suggest, is that coupled women who are thinking of having an affair (even when asked to think about it by researchers) subconsciously select a man who is more likely to be a willing partner when they are fertile. Courting a coupled man may be both a waste of time — as he is less likely to participate in an affair — and hazardous, as there is a greater chance of getting caught.

American men still don’t pull their weight when it comes to housework and child care, but collectively they’re not the slackers they used to be. The average dad has gradually been getting better about picking himself up off the sofa and pitching in, according to a new report in which a psychologist suggests the payoff for doing more chores could be more sex.

Found this hilarious tidbit yesterday (via Fleshbot, via Deadspin). You have to see it to believe it.
