Review: Stranger II vibrator

Stranger II Vibrator from VibeReview

Stranger II Vibrator from VibeReview

Here is yet another vibrator that may start to slowly restore my faith and confidence in battery-powered sex toys. The Stranger II vibrator is solid and a great choice.

As an side note here, can you imagine what it must be like to be a young woman today with such an amazing inventory of vibrators and dildos to choose from? We’ve come such a long way from such dour and drab beige toys of twenty years ago. There are toys for every taste, angle and hard-to-reach spot. Anyway…

The Stranger II is made in Germany, and I think reflects that country’s engineering acumen. It feels great in the hand (and elsewhere, I’m told) and it has a stylized ribbing that (again, I’m told) generates a different feel as more and more of its length goes inside, as well as when you twist it in different directions. We tested it in two different ways: Allie laying back against me between my legs as I pushed it in and out of her; and her flying solo with the vibrator while I watched laying next to her. We both endorse it for solo and partner play.

The two required AA batteries pack a longish punch. My test with two new batteries delivered just under 30 minutes of life on full vibration. Considering that it’s unlikely you’ll run it full speed (it has variable speed control), your results may vary.

It is water-proof, but I’m not sure I’d submerge the Stranger II. Think shower, not tub. The body is also made of silicone, so it’s hypo-allergenic, and super easy to clean. It’s also whisper-quiet, so it’s discreet enough if you have roommates or curious ears about.

I do wish the Stranger II came in more colors. While I love the light purple, I’d love to see it in at least black and pink as well. After trying out the Liv several days ago, I’d love to see the Stranger II come with a rechargeable option also.

Aside from those few nitpicks, I recommend the Stranger II vibrator. It’s a great addition to anyone’s collection, and could serve as a great main, daily (nightly?) use vibrator.
