Labiaplasty: The Most Private of Makeovers
I’m amazed that this procedure is receiving mainstream media exposure. People are so sensitive about their bodies. I’ve always been a fan of plastic surgery, though I don’t know anyone personally that’s ever had it. Still, if it makes people feel better, why not? Of course, you can always overdo it, right? All things in moderation. If it improves your self-image, and therefore your quality of life, then by all means. Here’s a snip from The New York Times article:
As millions of women inject Botox, reshape noses, augment breasts, lift buttocks and suck away unwanted fat, a growing number are now exploring a new frontier, genital plastic surgery. They are tightening vaginal muscles, plumping up or shortening labia, liposuctioning the pubic area and even restoring the hymen, sometimes despite their doctors’ skepticism about the need for such cosmetic measures.
If you’re interested (and I know you are), here are some before and after labiaplasty photographs. I’m sure these are, of course, “best case scenarios.” Still, the results are astonishing:
If you were wondering, Allie has no plans or interest (that I know of) of getting this procedure. Personally, I don’t think she needs it. Besides, can’t you just imagine how sore you’d probably be afterwards? Yikes!
